Come, and explore American Tribal
Style Belly Dance(ATS®) with
Pioneered and developed by Carolena Nericcio, founder and director of Fat Chance Belly Dance® of San Francisco, ATS® is a fusion of dance
genres, blending influences from Middle Eastern and North African dance, Rajasthani folk dance, as well as Flamenco. Utilising traditional music and
distinctive costuming, ATS® presents a modern format with the "feel" of antiquity, ever-respectful of the cultures that inspire it.
Mother-Daughter Tribal was established in 2010, in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Our purpose, beyond simply teaching classes, is to promote not only the feeling of well-being resulting from the very physicality of dance, but also the sense of community that develops amongst the dancers
as they master the steps and establish the rapport that will enable them to perform together with confidence and joy.
We welcome dancers of all ages, all shapes and sizes, all identifications, faiths and backgrounds.
Most particularly, we encourage inter-generational participation.
At long last, we can announce that Level One classes will be offered beginning in January, 2022 through the Ridgeville Park District in Evanston! The centre is located at 908 Seward Street (Seward and Ridge, between Main and Oakton.) Classes will be offered on Sundays from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., and on Thursdays from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m., and will run in nine-week sessions beginning on the 9th of January for Sunday classes, and on the 13th for classes meeting on Thursday. Due to COVID restrictions, class size is limited to twelve students, and masks will be worn.
The fee is $135.00 for each session, and registration will open on the 1st of December through the Ridgeville Park District. Go to www.ridgeville.org, click on Programs, then on Partnership Programs in order to register.
In the meantime, keep yourselves and your loved ones safe and well by practicing social distancing, eating sensibly, keeping hydrated, and pursuing regular physical activity.
